About Nightwish
Elan - Nightwish
History
Nightwish started out based in Finland in 1996. They released their first album, Angels Fall First in the following year. The release of this album lead to a growing popularity in Finland, but it wasn’t until the release of their fourth album in 2002 that the band reached international popularity. Once their fame had reached other countries they began touring internationally. While on tour in 2005 the band informed lead vocalist Tarja Turunen, that she was being dismissed from the band after the recording of End of an Era. Turunen’s replacement was announced as Anette Olzon in 2007 shortly before the release of the band’s sixth album. Olzon continued with Nightwish for five years until it was announced during a tour in 2012 that she would be leaving the band for health reasons. The band finished the tour with former After Forever vocalist, Floor Jansen, and adopted her as an official member of the band at the conclusion of the tour.
