About Metallica
History
Metallica was the formed when Lars Ulrich posted an ad in the local LA paper looking for individuals interested in joining a band. When James Hetfield responded they began the search for other members to complete the line-up. Metallica was considered to be one of the first Thrash Metal bands, which reached its peak in 1986 when the band released Master of Puppets. The band’s first live performance took place in Anaheim in 1982. In the same year they went on their first tour with Saxon. In 1986 their tour bus lost control in Sweden, killing their bassist at the time, Cliff Burton. Over the next twenty two years Metallica released six more albums and there are plans for a tenth album in either 2016 or 2017.
